Sunset At The Lowry

Sunset at The Lowry and Imperial War Museum

Today's photo depicts a sunset scene at The Lowry and Imperial War Museum North. I have taken this shot from Salford Quays Lift Bridge with my Canon PowerShot SX20IS. I felt the photo is a little noisy; any suggestions how I can improve it?

Hi Alex, when you say noisy, what do you mean? The image is too small to see any pixelation. My only suggestion is that perhaps it is over-sharpened, as you can see a tiny line at the top of the buildings. That might help any pixel noise. Wonderful shot, by the way.

Great photo, Alex. I see a little noise but not too bad. Noise is a function of ISO, so keeping the ISO set, say below 800, will help. The trade off is you will need a tripod if you want the image to be sharp at lower ISOs. You can also use editing software to reduce noise. Good luck!

If i were you i will move the camera to the left and higher up leaving most of the darker part.
